We are huge advocates of Nike and the Nike Women Ethos. It’s why when it comes time to style the outfits for our workouts and all of the videos that we produce for you guys Nike is always our first choice.
Nike is one of those fortunate brands that never stops innovating and creating products for their core base. For women, in particular, they collaborated with Berlin-based designer Johanna Schneider to create a new, inspired capsule collection.
Schneider previously worked for Acronym, an innovative high-end technical clothing brand.
Inspired by the human body, the talent made a collection of breathable yet supportive separates in natural tones –muddy green, white, grey and navy– geared to the stylish. Made from Nike’s patented Dri-Fit technology, the pieces allow the wearer to keep cool and sweat-free.
Working alongside Nike athletes, Johanna’s aim was to work up pieces that are adaptable, versatile and utilitarian – highlighted by the fact that they are worn by real athletes Morgan Lake, Emma Oudiou and Airine Palsyte in the campaign. For example, the NikeLab X JFS Long Sleeve Top, has thumb holes to anchor it in place during squats and star jumps.
“All garments of the collection are built to move and interact with the female body in motion,” Schneider says. “My idea of feminine silhouettes is a balance of hiding and revealing parts of the body. I don’t want the athlete to be distracted by the garment while she is working out.”
The Nike x Johanna Schneider collection will be available in stores Feb 26, 2015
